JPMA Charter of Corporate Behavior

Revised on October 18, 2018
Effective from April 1, 2019

The mission of pharmaceutical companies is to contribute to the improvement of the well-being and medical care of the people in the world through the continuous development and the provision of stable supply of excellent medicines and contribute to the realization of healthy and high-quality lifestyles. To attain this end, pharmaceutical companies are expected to sincerely and exhaustively pursue advances in the life sciences and engage in business activities based on the highest ethical standards and transparency.

In 1997, the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association ("JPMA") established the JPMA Charter of Corporate Behavior (the "Charter") in order for all of the member companies to accomplish the mission. JPMA has recently revised the Charter with a belief that the member companies shall contribute to the society’s continuous development through business activities in full consideration to environment, society and governance (ESG) and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society as well as the member companies’ own mission as pharmaceutical companies.
