JPMA produces new promotional videos, |
Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA, Dr. Hatsuo Aoki, President) completed the production of two promotional videos titled "Growth" and "Hurdles" in order to communicate messages about the pharmaceutical industry to the general public. The two videos were produced along with the introduction of a new logo created anew this year: "Growth" likens the huge amount of time and significance behind new drug development to the nurturing of a growing child and "Hurdles" illustrates the challenges to conquering diseases via new drug innovation through the actions of a hurdler. These videos will be broadcasted as a special televised program and presented at public meetings and open events to be viewed by as much of the public as possible. The promotional videos that have been used to date, i.e., "Writers," "Painters," "Musicians," versions with favorable public acceptance will be continued to be used after adding the new logo to the end of the recordings. The stories of the new promotional videos are as follows:
"Growth" version Concept:
The video tells a story of the research and development of a new drug, which takes 9-17 years on average and the efforts of researchers behind the development, comparing this to a growing child since birth seen in a parent's warm eyes.
"Hurdles" version Concept:
The video portrays the challenges to conquering diseases through new drug development, superimposing the actions of a hurdler. The sprinting and jumping hurdles symbolize the history of mankind in conquering diseases one by one. The video also gives a future predication to show the industry's positive direction through its efforts toward new drug innovation.
