JPMA introduces new logo

Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA, Dr. Hatsuo Aoki, President) has created a new logo, which will be available from May 27, 2005.

The new logo design, which was created with an earth motif, has five wings extending up across to the top right that symbolize 5 key messages of JPMA. Five wings centering the ball (earth) are also rising in sequence rightward to express the forward leap and growth of the association in the global community.

The symbol is bright blue in color, which is intended to give the impression of new energy, innovative spirit, internationalism, advanced technology, good health, and briskness.

The 5 key messages are:
LOGO -Contribution to global healthcare through the research and development of innovative drugs
-Boost in the Japanese economy through activities as a leading industry
-Creation of highly innovative and valuable new drugs
-Presence as a group of drug firms having efficient drug research and development capability
-Contribution to promoting patient-centered healthcare

The new logo will be displayed together with the logo type "SEIYAKUKYOU (means JPMA)". JPMA has been promoting a number of activities globally including collaboration with the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA). The logo type "JPMA" will be used in disseminating information to overseas.

JPMA has long used the current logo created in 1992. Changes in environments have urged the need for a new logo to express the present position of the association. The introduction of the new logo will give JPMA a more crucial momentum to portray messages such as "contribution as the leading industry to global healthcare with innovative drugs" and "contribution to patient-centered healthcare." Moreover, the new logo will help to fortify the presence of JPMA, which is essential for the organization in making various policy recommendations.

The new logo will be extensively displayed not only on JPMA's envelops, business cards, and official documents but also in its website, brochures, and various advertisements to gain wide by the general public.
