Joint symposium of Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA) and Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Dementia and Cancer, Health Agenda Associated with an Ageing Population "Early-Stage Initiatives to Extend Healthy Life Expectancy" Theme: Toward enough preparation, early awareness, consultation with healthcare professionals, and inclusive society
On September 8, 2023, JPMA and HGPI held a joint symposium at the Nihonbashi Life Science Hub (Tokyo). The symposium was held on the themes of dementia and cancer, which are considered to be common among the elderly. The event was also set as a follow-up to the " Proposals from the Pharmaceutical Industry for the G7 Hiroshima Summit Health Agenda " jointly issued by JPMA and the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) in November 2022 toward the G7 Hiroshima Summit and Nagasaki Health Ministers Meeting. Approximately 150 people from the media and the general public attended the event.
We hope that the keynote speeches, panel discussion, and this report provide opportunities for early awareness and enough preparation for the extension of healthy life expectancy.
